On D-day about nine thousand Allie troops were either wounded or were found missing. The nurses provided three rooms for the sick or wounded. They also burned a needles then put them on the wounds to sterilize or help heal them. Also to  cleen the wounds they would get cotton then rub it on the wounds but it was hard to get cloth.
